Bonnie Brittain BMT
Bonnie Brittain completed a degree in music therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University in April 2009, followed by an internship with Fermata Music Therapy. Bonnie has clinical experience in long-term care and with adolescents with a variety of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Down Syndrome, as well as providing group music therapy sessions to elementary schools to special needs children.
Bonnie plays the viola and has played in multiple orchestras in Hamilton and at university. Bonnie also plays the guitar, sings, and plays piano. She enjoys using her musical talents at work, church, and at play.
Kristen Anderson, Master Music Therapy, Intern Kristen Anderson received an Honours BA in Music Education and Performance from McMaster University in 1994. She has over 15 years experience teaching piano to students ranging in age from 4 years old to adult. Kristen is currently pursuing a Master of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has experience working with children having special needs such as Autism, Down syndrome, Williams syndrome and other developmental and behavioural challenges in both an educational and therapeutic capacity. Kristen completed an internship with seniors at a long-term care facility and is currently providing music therapy for adults at a rehabilitation facility for Acquired Brain Injury. Kristen is a piano teacher at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts with the No Bounds Music Program instructing students with special needs, and has been providing music therapy with Fermata Music Therapy since April 2009.
Erin Hiuser BMT MTA , Erin Hiuser graduated with honours from Wilfrid Laurier University’s Bachelor of Music Therapy program in 2005 where her training included studies on piano and guitar as well as clinical psychology courses. She completed her internship at St. Joseph's Mountain Health Care - Centralized Rehabilitation Services in Hamilton working primarily with adults with serious mental illness. Following her internship,she has enjoyed working in a variety of settings such as schools, group homes, long term care centres, and day centres focusing primarily on bringing music therapy to adults with dementia as well as adults and children with developmental and physical disabilities. Her background also includes a year of teaching English in a private school in South Korea. Erin is an accredited music therapist with the Canadian Association for Music Therapy and a member of the Music Therapy Association of Ontario. She is a client-centered clinician who strives to help all individuals achieve holistic health through the power of music and a strong client-therapist relationship.
